[Education Tips] 03_ Overlapping Songs, Practicing Same-Chord Songs!
Same-chord songs are a great activity to utilize in the beginning stages of a cappella.

It sounds truly wonderful! Even though it's a movie, they are amazing kids~
This kind of activity is called ‘singing same-chord songs’ or ‘singing partner songs.’
This activity allows you to:
Focus on your own voice,
Listen to the sound of other vocal parts, and
Feel the harmony!
Please read the explanation below slowly! It will definitely be helpful!^^
○ Steps
1. Let's all sing the songs 'Airplane' and 'Calf' separately together.
2. Let's have one group sing 'Airplane' and another group sing 'Calf', starting at the same time and singing together.
3. Let's sing them again while checking if the start, end, and transitions from measure to measure in the middle match well.
4. Let's sing the songs 'Mountain Rabbit' and 'Baby Calf' in the same manner.
5. Let's sing the songs 'New Year's Day' and 'Mother Pig and Baby Pig.'
6. If everyone maintains their melodies well from beginning to end without making mistakes, success!
○ Tips
– At first, try dividing the two parts between the entire student group and the teacher.
– Fully experience multi-part singing by singing short songs slowly.
– Sing at a pitch that is comfortable for the children to sing.
– You can feel the harmony and do it much more easily when you properly adjust both songs to be in the same key.
○ Extras
– Try singing the songs using solfège (scale-degree names) instead of lyrics. It helps in understanding harmony.
– Let's try changing the lyrics to ‘Oo’.
– Let's sing ‘Danny Boy’ and ‘Annie Laurie (Bonny)’ together.
○ Musical Effects
– You get to experience a variety of harmonies by singing two songs together.
– You can experience the balance and harmony of sounds through the blend created by the two songs.
○ Character & Sociality Effects
– You develop the strength to maintain your own melody while listening to a different song.
– You experience achieving a goal while feeling the musical harmony together with your peers.

이런 활동을 ‘같은 화음 노래 부르기’ 혹은 ‘파트너 송 부르기’ 라고 합니다.
이 활동은,
내 소리에 집중하고,
다른 성부의 소리를 들으면서
화음을 느낍니다!

○ 단계
1) ‘비행기’, ‘송아지’ 노래를 각각 다함께 불러 봅시다.
2) 일부는 ‘비행기’를 부르고, 다른 일부는 ‘송아지’를 동시에 시작하여 함께 불러 봅시다.
3) 노래의 시작, 끝, 중간 마디에서 마디로 넘어갈 때 잘 맞는지 확인하며 다시 불러 봅시다.
4) ‘산토끼’, ‘어린 송아지’ 노래를 같은 방식으로 불러 봅시다.
5) ‘설날’과 ‘엄마돼지 아기 돼지’ 노래를 불러 봅시다.
6) 처음부터 끝까지 틀리지 않고 서로의 가락이 모두 잘 유지되면 성공!
○ 팁s
– 처음에는 학생 전체와 교사로 두 성부를 나누어 불러봅니다.
– 짧은 노래들로 천천히 부르면서 다성부를 충분히 경험합니다.
– 노래의 음높이를 아이들이 부르기 좋은 음높이로 노래합니다.
– 두 노래의 조성이 갖게 잘 조절하여 노래를 불러야 화음을 느끼며 더 쉽게 할 수 있습니다.
○ 더하기
– 노래를 가사가 아닌 계이름으로 불러 봅니다. 화음을 이해하는데 도움이 됩니다.
– 가사를 ‘우’로 바꿔서 불러 봅시다.
– ‘대니보이(Danny Boy)’와 ‘Annie Laurie(Bonny)’를 함께 불러 봅시다.
○ 음악적 효과
– 화음이 다른 두곡의 노래를 부르며 다양한 화음을 경험하게 됩니다.
– 두 노래가 만드는 어울림에서 소리의 균형과 조화를 경험할 수 있습니다.
